I've recently seen some posts in various places of images of dandelions which had moved from being a flower, to being a ball of white seed heads. Those have all been in the northern hemisphere, so perhaps the season has something to do with it... though it does seem to be an endless cycle.
I saw such a head in the yard this morning, but decided instead to grab its nearby neighbour which was earlier in its life cycle.
Also, this is the first time in a while that we've had One! Full! Day! of bright sunshine (more or less, kinda sorta), so the sunlit golden yellow colour seemed appropriate.
