This one splash of color happened early in the month and then never progressed.
Most everything else just stayed green in Nature
until high winds eventually knocked the leaves down.
It was 83 degrees Fahrenheit the day that this was shot and then warmed up even more for a couple of weeks after that. We've had a strange Fall. Except for 2 days, it has been more like Summertime than Fall. After 2 nights of record setting, hard freezes, it got up to 88 degrees again this past weekend with 50 MPH sustained wind and higher gusts. Very strange. And not the best weather for "autumn leaf peeping". Still, there have been a few, isolated spots of color during October (here & there) like this. Just enough to say Winter is coming.
