Salvador Dalí´s House-Museum. Atomic Leda
In the central plane we find a very realistic Leda without clothing floating on a throne and accompanied by a swan. Leda is really the representation of Gala, Dalí's wife, while Dalí is personified in the swan. Both symbolize the myth of Leda and Zeus, because the great God, appeared to her in the form of a swan to try to seduce her. From this relationship comes offspring: Pollux and Castor, two soul mates like Gala and himselfIn 1947 the artist made the Indian ink sketch that took him several months of study with the help of the mathematician Mitila Ghyka. Several Pythagorean calculations were carried out, also touching on the Golden Ratio. In this way, this work is made, framing Leda looking at and caressing the Swan within a pentagram inserted into a five-pointed star.
