The Blue House
The Serinyanas have been one of the most prominent lineages of seafarers and merchants — pilots, shipowners, captains and merchants — of Cadaqués. From the 16th to the 19th century, there are reports of his travels and business contacts throughout the Mediterranean. At the beginning of the 20th century, Octavi Serinyana ordered the construction of the architect Salvador Sellés. It is a modernist building, with an almost absolute predominance of sky blue. On the façade, the sky blue glazed ceramic decoration stands out; friezes, balustrades, framing of openings and wrought iron elements of grilles and balconies. The existence of the warehouse is one of the singularities of the project. It is an exempt body that communicates with the residence through the terrace located above it, which is a splendid viewpoint of the bay of Cadaqués. The original structure, partitioning and decoration have been practically preserved inside.
