After Mass at St. Mary's in Waltham we headed out to Quincy to visit the Adams National Historical Park. After some finagling, we managed to get the two available guided tours and learned a bunch about John and John Quincy. The park has two historical sites and a visitor center spread out over a couple miles of Quincy, Mass. One site is two structures, the birth places of John Adams and John Quincy Adams. The second site is the Old House and Stone Library on Peace Field. This was where four generations of Adams, starting with John, lived starting in 1788. Both John and John Quincy lived here while President. To me this was the most interesting because it was still retaining the furniture and belongings of the whole family. The last resident was Brooks Adams, John's great-grandson. The old house is today's photo.
