Billionaire’s Row is a set of ultra-luxury residential skyscrapers, constructed or in development, that are arrayed along the southern end of Central Park in Manhattan.
There are seven buildings that make up Billionaires’ Row. Six of these tall buildings are visible in the photo.
Central Park Tower on the left is the tallest residential building in the world, its height is 1,550 feet and it has 98 floors.
More than half are empty.
Why Is Billionaire’s Row So Empty?
As with buyers of other prime pieces of Manhattan real estate, many owners on Billionaire’s Row are not planning to soak up those park views on a daily basis.
Wealthy foreigners often use shell companies to purchase valuable American properties as a way to shield their names
and keep their money “safe” outside of their own countries. The slew of international buyers means that the über-fancy apartments often remain empty.
