As with many Hoosier State motorcar builders, Studebaker's final product was one of its finest.
The 1963 Avanti was so advanced in styling and performance that even today it has a refreshing,
clean, contemporary appearance.
The Avanti was a unique and dramatic design and in the years since its introduction, it has worn well,
testified to by the fact that for three decades, the Avanti continued in production even after the
demise of the Studebaker Corporation. The Avanti had the performance to back up its good looks. The
Avanti will remain famous for what it accomplished in such a short period; Twenty-nine new stock car
records were established under the direction of Andy Granatelli at Bonneville.
Total Avanti production in 1963 was 3,834 cars.
