Viel del Pan is an ancient trade route. It has an excellent view of Marmolada (3,343 m or 10,968 ft), the Queen of Dolomites. Less than 2 weeks of our hike along Viel del Pan, a serac collapsed on the Marmolada Glacier and killed at least 9 hikers.
