As I have mentioned before, Edmonton has undertaken a natural approach to landscaping. We plant only indigenous species and let them grow with little care.

This is the John Janzen Nature Park. This used to be a carefully manicured pond. It was a popular place to take portraits. However, under the new regime, it is left to its own devices and now it is starting to look quite wild.

We are told that in time we will start to appreciate the new look.

Looks fine to me. Hopefully the mosquito population doesn't expand because of the changed environment.
