Yellow Zinnia 2022

This was what caught my eye today.
It seemed to fit the blazing hot day.

****************************

Official, actual temperature from the Weather Service was 100 degrees (37.8°C) here today.
The local TV weatherman said humidity level was 78%; which is extremely unusual for actual temperatures this high.

Comfort Level: Almost unbearable
I forget what the heat index was earlier today. There was an extreme heat warning.
My husband was very concerned about my being outdoors; even in the shade.
At 10PM, the heat index outside is currently still a miserable 103 degrees (38°C)!!! But the actual temperature is now back down to 92 degrees. The continuing high humidity is making things feel hotter.

Unfortunately, this current heat wave is not our first heat wave of the Summer... When it gets too hot, most flowers will slow down in blooming. The above zinnia blossom was new today, but I don't expect it to last very long. It's already showing some heat stress.

What a gorgeous shot to exemplify the hot sunny day. To be +38 late at night is awful! We've got a heat warning here too, at present the humidity is making it feel like +40, Ugh. V

Sounds very hot and uncomfortable. Good time to stay indoors with the air on or fan blowing.

I like Zinnias and have them in my gardens every year, Hummingbirds, bees and Butterflies love them too. Nice shot of this one Liz.

Lovely capture. V
The heat stress adds character to the photo, but these climate trends are bad news.
