Works better than the straight edge in breaking thru grass and dirt... Less resistance per square inch in pushing forward thru materials... Also, extends out about 3 5/8" which allows me to see the cutting edge while the bucket is level on the ground... At 5'8", I couldn't see the cutting edge before which made thing a little harder... Added blade allows to carry more material with it installed...
