KC Double Decker Tours

Country Club Plaza

4 ½ Stars on Trip Advisor...What they say about themselves: "We are the only sight-seeing tour company in Kansas City that is locally owned and operated. Roll through the historic streets of KC with us to see international attractions and local favorites while getting the historic and current low-down on KC." Whenever I saw them, they were a roadside "distraction" for me. I always wanted to give them a try; just to see the city through a tourist's eyes. However, I kept procrastinating & missed my chance.

Sadly, they have become another victim of the pandemic.
Facebook UPDATE: "Unfortunately, KCDDT has permanently closed. We thank you for the many fun years!"

One of their tour stops was the beer hall where I shot my photo of yesterday https://pbase.com/britestar/image/172761963.
Another tour stop was just around the corner from where I shot this image.
Although the tour bus is the star of this photo,
the entire Country Club Plaza may be the most well-known attraction in Kansas City.

A nice image, but a sad commentary, so many businesses have fallen victim to COVID
and, it still continues.

Another business casualty because of covid. Too bad.

I`m sorry to hear this innovative company has closed; it must have been satisfying for tourists to see the city from the open top of the double decker. Nice, bright shot. V

Looking a bit closer, it seems to be an old London 'Routemaster' from the 60s but has had some serious work done so the driver's cab is on the suitable side - as well as passenger access. Most exported abroad did not have this work done. I've only ever been on an open top bus in Dublin and Madrid - they are often expensive for what they are. Sorry to hear that the operation has closed - maybe a replacement will happen one day.

Yes, it does look a fun and rather unique way to see the city. Too bad they've closed.
