"The gardens offer visitors a peaceful stroll along winding reflection ponds sheltered by a picturesque oak hammock. Washington Oaks is also famous for its unique shoreline of coquina rock formations along the Atlantic beach. This ancient rock formation creates the perfect spot for beachcombing, tidal pool exploring and photography."

Until yesterday (when I was reorganizing photos on my Photo Server), I had almost forgotten about my visit here. It was an impromptu stop on way (via county roads South) back to the airport. I had some extra time & was driving the "slow way" just to see what I could see. No planning. I stopped when I saw this sign. Although having more time would have been better, I was able to spend a couple of pleasant hours with my camera. Unfortunately, my timing was midday; so, the lighting wasn't the best for photography. Still, a nice, unplanned stop.
Plus, I also did make it to the airport in time for my flight home.
