Built in the first decade of the 20th century
the Hackesche Höfe, named after the architect Hacke,
were built to house offices, flats, businesses and workshops.
This particular building with a restaurant on the ground-floor now
used to be a repair workshop for Trabant 'Trabi' cars
in the times of the German Democratic Republic.
