Virginia Ctenucha moth laying eggs

Larose Forest

My first photo for the 'things you see (attractions and distractions) July Challenge'. Seen along the side of a forest road. The moth is ovipositing on a goldenrod leaf.

To see what others are posting in the way of roadside/trailside attractions/distractions for the Jult challenge: https://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=49178&p=389709&sid=0f36a6f9c84e3ce69263db181a1592b7#p389709

Nice capture. Seeing lots of these now, which we purposely mispronounce as "Chattanooga" moths. :-)
