Flowers And Not Gas

M. Jackson, Virginia

This is another image from Mt. Jackson, Virginia. After working as a high school and college student in a full service gas station, this old building brought back many memories. Small town full service gas stations were once common but the one stop for gas and all automotive repairs have pretty much vanished. This "flower shop" with it's decor seemed a perfect fit in the historic district at Mt. Jackson.

Excellent photograph of these old-time pumps when gas was probably 25cents a gallon.
Nice that they preserve these pumps so the younger generation can see them.
Love the window display in the building.

I'm glad these people kept and restored that gorgeous old building and the gas pumps. My first job, when I was 12, was at my dad's gas station making a whopping $1 per hour. I was rich back then. Our station was not as old and definitely not as attractively architected as this one. Really beautiful light, color and framing. ~BV~
