Bobolink

A declining species. They nest on the ground in fields such as this.
Quite fortunately this field is deliberately not hayed until the nesting period is completed.

Nice capture. That's great that the field is harvested after their nesting. I think there are some who are not as fortunate here.

Beautiful shot! There was a time when I saw and heard these birds in our area frequently. Now? Almost never. You have to search diligently for them. They are on the Species at Risk list here, very sad. V
