‘Broken Chair,’ Geneva

Another picture from Tim’s short time in Geneva. After his flight from Dulles was delayed by five hours on Monday, his flight back here was also delayed by two hours. I think he’s really fed up with air travel at this point, especially on United.

From Wiki:

“Broken Chair” is a monumental sculpture in wood designed by Swiss artist Daniel Berset and built by carpenter Louis Genève. It is constructed of 5.5 tons of wood and is 12 meters (39 feet) high.

It depicts a giant chair with a broken leg and stands across the street from the Palace of Nations in Geneva. It symbolizes opposition to land mines and cluster bombs and acts as a reminder to politicians and diplomats visiting the city.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.
