Breaking Light On Little River

Great Smoky Mountain National Park-Tennessee

This image was taken on a quick visit to the Smokies to concentrate on fly fishing and photography with my oldest son. Glad we brought extra food because the fishing was very slow but the cool mountain air was a nice change from the current heat wave at home. The Smokies have over 2100 miles of trout streams which also presents so many great photography opportunities. If you hike up some of the paths beside the streams, you can avoid the crowds.

Love the light accents in this frame. You did a masterful job with the flowing water. Not so easy since a lot of shooters turn it into flowing "milk" by picking the wrong shutter speed.

Beautiful soft lighting breaking over the falls,
Dave.

the scattered light adds charm to a peaceful yet vibrant scene...shutter speed choice is ideal for retaining motion in the stream, and the many diagonals add a quiet dynamism..V

I'm sorry I didn't know it during 20 years of extensive hiking. Coming from NYC I was enamored with the West

The light is to me perfect composition flattering with a very artistic exposure for the waterfalls.
Take sharp nice soft reflections over the flowing water.
Image title fits the scene nicely.
