Thunderstorm damage

Severe thunderstorms passed through our area on Sunday night, leaving destruction in their wake across the region. This tree is just around the corner from our house, and a large branch from another tree a few houses down from ours also snapped off but didn’t land on any cars (or people), luckily.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

Yikes!

Yes it happens more and more these heavy storms, in the last year we have had to remove many fallen trees in our natural areas, and unfortunately with damage to people's property, and huge water nuisance in certain areas. BV

What a disaster. But if there were no injuries, it's a lesser evil. It seems that the heart of the tree was half rotten..
Carl Carbone25-May-2022 22:59
Yikes! Good thing no one was around when it fell.
Nirvan Hope24-May-2022 23:17
Yes, ouch! I hope there were enough Uber drivers to get people to work after the storm.
Kevin D Warren24-May-2022 20:16
Ouch! That's a hefty trunk and although I can't see the full extent of damage to the car I would have expected more from such an impact.
Jola Dziubinska24-May-2022 16:20
Sorry what has happened to this car.
pkocinski24-May-2022 11:50
Looks like the tree had rot - was just a matter of time and winds.
Gill Kopy24-May-2022 05:01
Oh wow - what a shocker. I guess the storm went on up to Ontario - a few people were killed !! :(
Nick Paoni24-May-2022 01:49
So unfortunate, but so good that no one was injured. Cars can be replaced.
Dennis Hoyne24-May-2022 00:23
Uh-oh I should have parked in a different spot.
Bill Miller23-May-2022 22:33
What a shame for the tree and the car
janescottcumming23-May-2022 22:21
Hope they have insurance, what a shame. Glad no one was hurt.
Tom Munson23-May-2022 21:13
This is too bad. Hope no one was hurt.

That is now a familiar sight here, because we also had a huge, powerful thunderstorm go through the other day, with devastation across the city. Your shot shows such an event well, but I pity the poor car owner. V

Ouch! I'm assuming no one was in it when the tree fell.
Raymond23-May-2022 19:01
The tree chose an expensive car to fall on! We too had some severe storms with many trees falling.
Nestor Derkach23-May-2022 18:23
Nice sharp image but a not a happy time for the owner of the car looks like it will need some repair.
Hope his claim goes well with the insurance company.

storm fallout graphically illustrated....the same weather system went through Ontario, and falling trees killed a number of people...just as well this car was parked at the time..
Julie Oldfield23-May-2022 17:44
That’s scary. I’m glad no one was injured.

That tree was in a bad condition so blame the owner..... nice shot by the way V
LynnH23-May-2022 16:46
Oh dear, that's too bad. Looks like the tree had some rot or maybe a Zombie tree.
Danad23-May-2022 16:06
A bad surprise for the owner of the blue car !
