Praca Comerico

Lisbon, Portugal

A rainy Saturday yesterday saw me going though my Portugal photos.
I found a few I wanted to share.
The pedestrian walkway is a delight way to spend a day in Lisbon.
So many great places to eat and stores to see.
It ends here at the Praca Comerico.
Before the 1755 earthquake this was location of the Ribeira Palace, the main royal palace of Portugal.
The earthquake was bad enough but the tsunami flattened the palace and most of the Baixa district.
More than 30,000 people in Lisbon died.

reassuring that it appears so full of life these days...that's quite a square to cross on a hot day..
