Clever Bird

I was watching this House Finch as it approached this dandelion walking on the stem
to bring it down to its level. Then it pecked and pried to open of the base of the bloom
to get to the seed. I am thinking they do this to get the seed before it dries
and avoid the fluff. We see the Goldfinch in the dandelion patch (AKA:Lawn) all the time,
but this was a new one for me.

Birds are a lot smarter than we give them credit for - like the crows bringing buns to soften them in our bird bath !! Neat that you could zoom in for a close look. V
