Parvis de la Cathédrale.

Bourges.

Bourges St-Etienne Cathedral was consecrated in 1324. It is the first Gothic cathedral built south of the Loire. Its size is impressive and can be compared to that of Notre-Dame de Paris (120 meters long and 41 meters wide. Its highest tower rises to 65 meters). The angle of this shot is excellent with the juxtaposition of the impressively large cathedral and houses dwarfed by it. VV

Love the soft light on the church.

the glorious light on the facade seems appropriate for such a colossal temple...good idea to include the houses of common folk who had to pay for the church's extravagance..

The immensity of the cathedral as compared with the adjoining buildings tells a story. "VV"
