We first saw each other at the end of April https://pbase.com/britestar/image/172557451
I've been very surprised to then see him again and again every day since. Research has proven Jumping Spiders are extremely intelligent. They can recognize specific places and situations and even problem solve. When we first met, he was extremely wary of me. Since then, he has become much bolder. Although he was afraid at first, he will now jump onto my camera like he owns it.
This individual is an extremely tiny species, but I've read that some jumping spiders (assumedly a bit larger) can actually be kept as pets. For many different reasons, my adopting a pet spider won't be the situation here. However, my having repeat encounters with this same little jumping spider has been a glimpse into part of my everyday life. These repeat encounters with the same spider have awakened my curiosity to learn a little more about jumping spiders and how they may interact with humans.
BTW, this is a male.
