This is not the nesting pair but a different couple.
I found them in the marshy area beyond the new in-progress beaver dam.
They saw me from afar and didn't seem to mind my presence, even swimming up direct and fairly close.
Then the big fellow began honking so I took the clue and left.
His honking continued for some time and eventually they took flight.
