Short-billed Dowitchers molting

Notice the varying stages of molt above and below. The strongly orange-barred scapulars and tertials are typical of hendersoni. These birds will become much brighter rufous below by the time they reach the breeding grounds, which will extend throughout but tends to be brighter on the neck.
