polarizing

Canada Place

cruise ships are allowed to dock here again, and the Koningsdam is the first to arrive...the huge influx of tourist dollars is welcome, but the environmental cost is also massive...cruise ships dump extraordinary amounts of wastewater, and spew greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide in alarming quantity, even more than air travel...their presence is definitely a polarizing issue

Disturbing, for sure - the size of these things boggles my mind. Well captured ! V

Most things humans do have a destructive impact on the environment. I don’t think most people even think about it. The ship looks powerful and impressive with your POV. V

Nice shot of this, now if only they could run on nuclear power.

It's scary how much those things pollute.

Great image of this huge liner. Sounds like they should all be banned permanently though.

Cool perspective. I like the way the cruise ship looks beside the modern building.
Seems the transit time from San Diego to Vancouver is 6-7 days. Here's a photo of Koningsdam here on April 3.

I find the abundance of lines in this capture quite striking, and even more so in mainly B&W tones.

Like a floating hotel. I kind of agree with Daniel.

Impressive ship. Deluxe cages probably, but cages at last !
