Loop Nebula (Veil Nebula)

Ashton- Wildwood Observatory

The Schmidt Camera is difficult to manipulate in just about every way. loading the film, processing the film and handling the film. So this image was not precisely guided, the stars are a bit stretched out. There is a nasty scratch that starts at Pickering's Triangle and stretches to the Eastern Veil (near the pictures center).

There are 2 satellites that cross this field (and this is way before any Starlink Satellites). If you have trouble seeing them, the brighter satellite crosses Open Star Cluster NGC6940 that cuts across the upper righthand portion of the image. The fainter satellite is visible crossing the lower left of the image and nearly bisects the bright star (52 Cyg) next to the eastern half of the nebula, and again nearly intersects NGC6940.
