See Allan's death certificate in the next image.
The following is from Lionel Denny, Allan's Nephew.
I recall finding Allan's war grave at Shotley church, whilst on a cycle road, quite a shock as up until then nobody in the family knew where his final resting place was. I have spent very many years doing family research and gladly attach a copy of Allan's photo taken at HMS Ganges in 1916, also his Death Certificate advising his death in the Royal Naval Hospital, Shotley of cerebro spinal meningitis. There was an outbreak of this disease at Shotley and at many other Naval bases in 1916.
Allan was a Norfolk boy, raised on the Gawdy Estate, Redenhall where his father and two older brothers were working. He was born in April 1900. At Ganges he was a Boy 1st Class, number J/45497.
