The title and very good photo can apply to so many situations today. It is happening in sports (MLB), between political parties, within political parties, between countries, etc.
Sad.

The two sides might make better progress at a smaller table.

Are you familiar with Paul Whelan's case?

Shudder, they did not use disposable needles in Russia in 1991...syringes were also 1930's glass...well, medical care was something from beyond even my birth. I also don't think I checked out either, I left AMA, against medical advice, on wobbly legs.

It was a different time, I argued strongly in favor of the sovereignty of Alaska to the US, and maybe embarrassed some attendee's...I thought such a question was a joke.

Or....who knows...I know where it happened, who served me though maybe not what.

It was a bad gig all around.

I was compromised without a doubt...

If the old KGB factions wanted you dead ☠️ you’d be dead so either it was a shot over the bow or that questionable sushi bar you ate at. You remember, the one you ordered a bottle of French wine instead of the Russian vodka. Dah!

I do not remember you telling this story before but I am still having some thyroid memory related problems and I’m sticking with that story. Paul

PPS Upon leaving the military hospital, certain people wanted to interview me, I was becoming a liability to the university, an embarrassment; that is why I was hustled out of country so quickly. Traveller

At some level, maybe yes...I am spending an inordinate amount of time on posting pro Ukrainian war footage...my real work falls behind to a degree I am somewhat ashamed of myself.

But duty is duty, (have I ever mentioned I was slightly (?) poisoned in StP Russia in 1991 when I went there to maybe interview for teaching law...or something. It is still blindingly vivid me stumbling back into my University host's home and being quickly bundled out of country, (in maybe 6 hours?)

Well,

Traveller

PS That can't be entirely true...I spent a day an a half in a Russian Military hospital, then, returned to my Host at the University a second time & I was quickly removed from the country.

Have you joined Zelenskyy‘s negotiation team? Paul
