Whisker Lichens

Skelton, Minnesota

Also known as Stubble Lichens, Calicioid Lichens, and Pin Lichens. Identification to species based on sight is next to impossible. These fruiting bodies of a Stubble Lichen are growing from a decorticated white pine stump that was cut in 1976. Possibly Mycocalicium or Calicium.
