Iceland (Kumlien's) Gull first cycle with Ring-billed Gulls
This image better shows the upperparts and primaries. Scapulars and coverts show a fairly uniform mottling of light against a pale grayish-brown background. Primaries can just be seen in this image, which were pale brownish similar to the body tone and had a full and prominent whitish border to the feathers. I couldn't capture the tertials by photos, but were seen well and were the same base color as the scapulars/coverts, with full barring throughout the feathers. This appearance of the tertials and primaries would not be seen in Thayer's Icelands.
