For the past week or so, a Cooper's Hawk has been visiting our yard quite frequently. It usually just perches on top of my bird-feeder post and just sits there watching for birds and occasionally catching a Sparrow. It seems to only want birds as it totally ignores both the black/grey Squirrels and the smaller Red Squirrels which after some initial hesitation continued to feed below the feeders. The feeder post and feeders are about 10 meters (30 ft.) from one of our bedroom windows from which I was able to get many good shots of the hawk who also didn't seem to mind my presence behind the window.
The top image is a close-up of the Hawk perched on the east side of my feeder set-up.
A wide-view of my feeder set-up. Note the Hawk on the top, west (right) side of the feeder support and the black Squirrel right below it on the ground.
