Graffiti Decor

Despite the problem of tagging in Chinatown,
I think the colourful graffiti brightens up an otherwise dreary and dull alley way.

These graffiti make this dark alley so beautiful... V

The amount of cheeriness generated is directly proportional to the skill of the graffitiist.

The passageway of time has certainly
taken its toll on this alleyway!

The alley makes for a great canvas for the taggers. Some appear to be more artistic than others though.

Although not universally loved, tagging is street art's close cousin. And it does add interest to otherwise boring streets.

Yes the street art does add to the ambiance of the area, especially when regularly renewed so always something new. Great capture. V!

I agree the graffiti does wake up the plain surroundings.

Quite a deserted alley and well captured and composed with this perspective...
I love creative, artistic graffiti but those done in this alley are unsightly and unimaginative making the place somber and dreary...V

With our without Graffiti, I’ll avoid going down this alley: too desperate for my state of mind ! :)

Sure adds a special and colorful touch to this low key alley way. V

Pity they don't cover the whole wall :) Certainly cheers up the alley. V

I agree with you about the graffiti, and you got a great capture of it in this alley. I do object when people tag murals, though. V.

scribbled tags don't offer much, but this more accomplished graffiti adds colour and character..that's a good look at the extent of the alley, and the contrast with the plain wall on the left..

Your monochrome pictures in the store had a lively image of this area and this shows a very different feel of the place.
The city fathers are neglecting this important part of the city.

The graffiti certainly brighten the alley!

I agree. It breathes life and colour into an otherwise pretty monotonous alleyway. V
