The Encinitas Boardriders held an intra squad surf contest yesterday and asked me to try to capture the action and the vibes. I took a lot of pics, both portraits and action, and have to say this is my favorite of the day. This is Luis. He is a pro surfer and has a surf board company. He had just finished competing and stopped to greet his son as he came out of the waves. The contest was about sport and competition, but also about family.
