Abandoned Storefront?

Montgomery County, Virginia

I periodically just explore surrounding areas near Blacksburg looking for possible photographic opportunities. This caught my eye and so I parked nearby and explored this location. I do not know the history of this structure but it appears to have been an old store front. The flag stood our against the peeling and faded white paint.

Weathered and beaten but still standing. Wonderful detail and textures. BV

Looks abandoned indeed. Surprised the flag is still up and surviving.

Nice shot! I wonder what it was, the building looks rather dated, but the flag isn't faded.

It does look like an old storefront, Dave. The peeling white paint does make the flag stand out too. Great find and shot.V

Lots of symbolism here with the twisted flag- that's what immediately caught my eye.

it seems business is a washout, yet the spirit of old glory days lingers in the flag...fine work capturing the subtle tonal gradations..

It does look abandoned, or at least out of service, but very interesting with the flag still hung on front. Well spotted and captured, Dave. V.

nice contrast with the colors of the flag.V.

It has a sun bleached appearance that implies age. The fresh flag shows care. "V"

Great find this old storefront. Really like the perspective and tight crop. Nice detail and textures, and the flag really stands out. "V"

What a treasure this work is!
Such a weathered structure and a very pristine looking flag!
The flag seems to be patiently waiting to be unfurled.
