I have to confess that I'm a bit of a hoarder.
I found this old engraved block on the print floor of the newspaper I used to work for.
I asked if I could keep it and it has become a treasured memento of when I worked in the last newspaper produced using hot metal in Ireland.

Wow, what a great keepsake, nicely captured! V. I don't remember how the first newspaper I worked for was actually printed, but I'm sure it was radically different from now. We copy editors had computers, but no spell check, no Internet, just hard copies of dictionaries for reference and what was in our heads. How things have changed!
