The Embassy Of Tunisia

Just as I was about to take this photo three men walked out of the building.
I put my camera down and said hello as they came down the steps.
I told them I though the decoration and door on the building was beautiful.
They talked a bit and then asked me if I was German.
I replied no that I was an American and then they walked away.
It was a rather strange encounter.

I agree with Nick, it makes we wonder what they would done if you said you were German.

It is rather strange to take photos of embassies, it is not allowed..except for Germans! :)

Perhaps one of them had a story to tell about Germany. Love a little mystery. Great decoration and door.

The door is absolutely exquisite, but the encounter sounds like it is out of a John Le Carre novel or some such!! V

Maybe they are still in a snit about losing WW2

Beautiful entry that I've never seen before, or at least never noticed. I'd be careful in general when considering photographing embassies here. Some countries don't want their diplomatic missions to be photographed, and some do have signs prohibiting it. V.

You surely look like a German spy ! :) Yes, the Embassies security members had sometimes strange attitudes. A bit paranoiac ...
A strange combinations of architecture and ornaments.
