I'm not very good with identifying trees - I think these are silver birch, but they might be alders...anybody know for sure? Whatever they are, they make for an atmospheric, almost abstract composition

they do appear to be alders, but goodness knows what similar trees might thrive in England..a pretty scene with lingering colour from fallen leaves..

Not much colour left now. I'd guess copper beech.
