Dear Santa

Dear Santa,
I really enjoyed my time off over Christmas so even though I like my job,
I wonder if you could arrange for me to win the Lotto.
As you know, the Jackpot hasn't been won since June 19th and some people are saying it's a conspiracy.
Anyway, it would give me the front page story I've always wanted to write: 'I won the lotto!'

Lotto works well as a spur to hopes and dreams...what an appealing image, fanciful and nostalgic .

Good luck with that one. I've wanted to write a story like that for more years than I can remember. Christmas, birthdays, Easter, Festivus, days which end in a "y"... I'm not fussed which day the event occurs, bit ideally "now" rather than "later". Santa may even throw in a word processor if you've been extra good!
