Owned by Pays Warbird collection, based in Scone, NSW and maintained by Vintage Fighter Restorations

Eventually Australia acquired around 850 P-40 series aircraft of various models as well as flying them in several RAF linked Squadrons in the Middle East. In RAAF service the P-40 distinguished itself as a tough and agile fighter both in the Pacific and in the Middle East and was the backbone of the RAAF fighter force for most of the conflict. This particular aircraft was delivered to RAF in 1942 but never operated by the RAF. Transferred to USAAF in Australia then RNZAF. It is painted in RAAF colours, 3 Sqdn based in North Africa & flown by Bobby Gibbes, one of Australia's WW2 aces

Beautiful image of this really perfect P-40. I'm being dumb here, but is it RAF or RAAF? ~BV~
