shedding

sharing a fate with follicly-challenged men, Bald Cypress are one of only three conifer tree species that lose their needle-like leaves...here's one shedding at the moment

Bald Cypress are oddities, having both male and female flowers, and are classified as deciduous/coniferous, dropping their russet leaves every autumn

Colourful sight, and interesting information.

I didn’t know that. What a great color they are! So pretty against the blue sky.

Fascinating. I recall also seeing a deciduous conifer in Europe, quite an oddity (to me) there but a different species to yours without doubt. We have a number of conifers native to Australia; they're all evergreen.

They make such a great subject in this wonderful image!
I love the color and the water filled gap between them.

I don't think I've ever seen these. Fascinating info. Love the view of the bare tree between the two.

I love how these trees look in the fall. We have larch trees in the woods around here which contrast with the regular conifers and look so lovely. V

The colors are beautiful, I have never seen them shed like this.

A nice shot and informative info David.

As if once mocking the more distant 'regular deciduous', their alopecia behaviour has become their undoing.
Mairéad04-Dec-2021 21:17
The colour is magnificent. Is larch another?
Helen Betts04-Dec-2021 21:04
Great capture of these beautifully colored leaves, and interesting information as well.

Great capture of their cascade of colored leaves.

A fascinating sight and one I am seeing for the first time. Especially striking with that carpet of orange needles on the waterlogged ground.
