A Blue Ridge Parkway Sunset

Near Cherokee, North Carolina

Conditions had appeared highly unlikely due to the heavy clouds for a good sunset image. We were about ready to return to our campsite when a slight sliver of sunlight broke through the clouds. As we watched and waited, the sky slowly began to explode in color.
