Passeig Marítim

A sign of old times.
Only a few of them are left these days and they will be removed in a few weeks as nobody use them because of the mobiles and internet.

Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS
1/60s f/2.8 at 6.2mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

It’s definitely a relic. A nice capture to document the end of an era. V

We still see them in remote areas where there's no cell service - not as modern as this one looks ! V.

Now if they could just remove the phone lines that get in the way, also.

Oh, that is sad. I don't own a mobile phone and probably never will, so I rely on these if I need to make a call when I am out somewhere, but they are hard to find! Cool shot. V

The structure doesn't look so old - just the technology has taken over fast.

We have 15000 of these still across the country and they are all free calls, I guess like most they will disappear but one day people will talk about them in history so I hope some get to stay.

A relic from the past for sure.

Wow, they still exist? Back in the 70's, The Mexican pesos (worth only a few pennies then) were divided in 100 centavos. Since the centavos were worth next to nothing and to make them cost a fortune in metals, Mexico discontinued making them. Hence the problem, all the local phone boots were functioning with centavos to make calls, since there were no more centavos, all the phone boots in Mexico became totally useless! Es la vida!

Well spotted and captured. I haven't seen one of those in forever! V.
