Departing geese...

A haiku by Issa, translated by David G. Lanoue. He says of this haiku: "Since this is a spring haiku, the wild geese are leaving Japan (i.e., returning to northern lands)."

David's right, they do look like eyes...I really like this Christine, the slight out of focus and shale at the bottom left corner just adds to the mood, great shot!

seen like this their outlines resemble eyes, perhaps looking back fondly at their winter home..
