Volax, Tinos

"Come on, help to raise the sun over Greece, come on, help us raise the sun above the world, come on, children, and the sun cannot rise alone, push with the calf and chest, to get it out of the mud, push it with your chest and calf, to get it out of the blood, push with your hands and heads, so that the sun may shine Spirit" Sikelianos, 1945.

Volax, is a village with narrow alleys, bougainvilleas and flowers. The village is famous for the art of basket weaving, with the visitor having the opportunity to see the craftsmen knitting them. Walking in the village you will find the Folklore Museum and the spring with the laundries, with the walk acquiring special artistic interest from the poems that someone has patiently written on the old doors of the village. Kalvos, Elytis, Sikelianos, Cavafis and other poets are presented in an exceptional way.(wondergreece.gr)
