Locals have renamed Nashville - Nash Vegas. I am not so sure about this. On our last trip to this place I was struck by the closed in feeling due to the high rise buildings closing in on Broadway. The Ryman Auditorium now looks like a hidden place. What's left of all the bars, museums and historical venues has taken on an almost seedy sheen. Parking prices are horrible,if you can even find a spot. Currently the Grand Ole Opry has taken on classic performances that in the past were held at the Ryman. There was no need to go downtown for us old folks.
