Noisy Miner Juvenile

East Ryde, NSW, Australia view map

Found this young chick in a large ceramic pot plant tub on Sunday. Had fallen out of his nest or could not fly. He was chirping loudly inside the pot for a day before I went over to see why the fuss. Gets a bit stressed when I go near so try to leave him/her alone. Parents are still feeding the chick. I had set up some branches from a tree for him to hide in. Happy to find the chick next morning had not been eaten by a cat, a kookaburra or a butcher bird. Today he moved into a Camelia bush then back into a lower branch of the lilli pill tree where his nest was.
Hoping he survives. 3 adult Noisy Miners are looking out for him.

Incredible detail. I'm happy he has survived at least this long. ~BV~
