A Short Stirling Mk1
The Stirling was the first four engined bomber to enter service with the RAF during WW2 becoming operational with 7 Sqn in Jan 1941.
Due to it's limited bomb load and low service ceiling it was withdrawn from the bomber roll in 1943 being replaced with the Lancaster and Halifax. It did provide excellent service as a paratroop transport and glider tug for the remainder of the war.
