We spent a lot of time at Navy Town. From there, one could see across Cold Bay, itself. Most of the time the cloud cover was so low that it obscured the tops of the mountains on the other side. When the geese were migrating, they stopped at Navy Town for a bite to eat and rest...just as they did at Applegate Cove, Izembek Lagoon, and numerous lakes in the Cold Bay area. When I took this photo, a fox was off to the right, just sitting quietly and watching. In 1970, there was a large population of red foxes at Navy Town. It was not unusual to see several foxes each time we were there.
